Missed two days although was working, for some reason forgot. Still pondering and glimly trying to read through "GMAT 800" alongwith Deepak Chopra's Seven rule for blissful living.
As I have mentioned in my previous blogs Deepak could be cryptic sometimes. But in this book he gives seven steps which are sometimes daunting to follow but confirms that if we follow these rules we could create lot of affluence. What is more interesting is that he suggests that we find out why we are here and confirms that we are here for some specific purpose and if we understand that particular purpose we do not have to go after wealth, the wealth will come to us. This morning I was having the conversation with a 9 year old and he thinks that we are here because God created us and the purpose, he went on describing that he is born to become an Automobile engineer. Well, I did not know what to answer.
Of the rules I kind of liked the following but they are difficult to follow.
1) Meditation
2) following the Dharma which means that whatever we are doing we should do it for the benefit of the mankind.
I will need to review this book again to provide further insights into this.

Then few things about the financial management. Was talking to my financial consultant and he provided a valuable insight. He argued that instead of buying individual stock and trying work as a Fund manager to get a maximized profit, we could buy a mutual fund which has all types of stocks and the fund manager will worry about the performance and if it did not do good then we pick another. I kind of agreed his notion about this, although everybody's dream is to pick a right stock and get rich. If life has been so easy then everybody would have been rich. I will pick up the string in my next blog.
