Went to denver between 11/11/06 to 11/14/06. The experience is mixed. We took the afternoon southwest flight and reached denver at around 2:30PM. Then had our lunch in Panda and took the rental car. In between we were planning to visit the zoo but it was late and we did not go. Then settled in the nice Radisson on the Northcastle(Thornton) area. For the night took the Indian food and slept.
Next day, we were off to Six flags after the delicious continental breakfast(compliments of the hotel). Six flags was a blast and Nikhil enjoyed the most and had to go with the rides for him. Then we went to the water park and enjoyed the slides and the water waves. Waited for the so called laser show and fireworks. Not worth it though. Then got the dinner and slept for the day.
Next day, we were debating as to go the tiny town or the Rocky mountains and finally decided to go the Rocky mountains. We drove to the Rocky mountains. Initially the scenery was good but as we went along, we felt it was not worth the trip. But finished the trip anyway and came back to the hotel. Then took the food from an Indian restaurant in downtown and slept for the night. Meanwhile got the calls from work for something and the internet did not work in the hotel, then I had to call somebody to fix the issue.
The final day we went to the Tiny town and it was good but did not take more than an hour. Then we were off to the zoo and spent the rest of the day there. We checked in early for our trip back and the flight was delayed. Finally we reached back home and were glad to be back.
Denver is not a good destination for the holidays other than the Six flags, However it is not what we see but the action of relaxing that gives the vacation the real bliss.
