Little bit about the web stuff. Today came across a request which required me to code in such a way that it should disable the "X" in the popup browser for some particular client. Since I am a paduan in this stuff, I had to research through the web to find out that it is not possible and while browsing and somebody struck me with this "If the browsers provide that capability, then the advertisers could make the window stay there forever". That is right and then it struck me. This reiterates that not all the properties and handles are exposed to the programmers.
There were some good postings on the Shark Tank. Check it out it is cool and gives insights into the users and the bosses.
I was very surprised to find a comment to one of my postings and when I went and saw it was somebody referring me to go to a Singles site. Please do not send those kind of comments because I am not a single and don't forsee to be for the rest of my life. But thank you for the offer and that was my first feedback.
Once in a while I ask myself, Why do we need these plethora of operating systems, languages, platforms. Imagine having an operating system with the GUI interface like windows, flexibility and stability like Unix and an open source like Linux. Boy wouldn't that be great!! I am waiting to see that happen, if it ever happens. But this brings up another issue, what will happen to all the programmers in their own individual OS and languages.
Recently, I was trying to upgrade myself by learning PHP and already I see that this is one language that can bridge the gaps in Java,C#,JSP. Since it has its origins in Perl, I like the regular expressions and other unix functionality provided by PHP. Slowly, my geekiness is creeping into this blog, although I will try to keep it minimum going forward.
